Chee Seng Sesame Oil Foccacia

Sesame oil prevents bread from drying out and it works as infuse sesame oil fragrance purposes. Enhance fragrant and savoury.

INGREDIENTS

Baking:

  • 9 tbsp Chee Seng sesame oil (divided) 4 cups flour

  • 2 tsp instant yeast

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 2 cups lukewarm water

Decoration:

  • 1 box Cherry tomato

  • 1 red capsicum

  • 1 yellow capsicum

  • 1 box thyme

  • 1 small Red onion

  • Flaky sea salt

STEPS

Make the dough (1st proofing):

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and instant yeast.

  2. Add lukewarm water. Fold ingredients to form a sticky dough ball.

  3. Drizzle 3 tbsp of Chee Seng sesame oil on the dough and spread evenly using a spatula.

  4. Cover the bowl with cling wrap and place in the refrigerator immediately for 2h.

Dough 2nd proofing:

  1. Drizzle 3 tbsp of Chee Seng sesame oil on the proofed dough and deflate the dough by releasing it from the sides of the bowl and pulling toward the center.

  2. Pour 3 tbsp of Chee Seng sesame oil into a 9x13 inch pan.

  3. Place dough into pan and roll to coat the dough.

  4. Cling wrap and let the dough rest for 2 hours in a warm environment.

Decoration:

  1. Pour 3 tbsp of Chee Seng sesame oil onto dough. Using your fingers, press straight down to create deep dimples.

  2. Preheat oven at 220 C, before the decoration.

  3. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt all over and decorate it with desired design with cherry tomato, capsicum, thyme, red onion.

  4. Transfer the pan to the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the underside is golden and crisp.
